- 2 lbs. ground beef
- 1 medium onion, minced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 – 15 oz. cans tomato sauce
- 2 – 12 oz. cans tomato paste
- 3 c. water
- 2 envelopes (1 1/2 oz) Italian spaghetti sauce mix with mushrooms
- 1 bay leaf, crumbled
- 1 tsp. oregano leaves
- 1 tbls. sugar
- 16 oz. spaghetti
| Cook and stir ground beef and onion until meat is brown and onion just tender. Stir in remaining ingredients except spaghetti and cheese. Cover and simmer 1 1/2 hours, stirring sauce occasionally
