| Line the inside of a 9 x 13 pan with 2/3 of the pie crust. Peel, core and slice the apples into a large bowl of cold water with a pinch of salt added (to keep from discoloring). Drain apples in a colander and put into the pastry-lined pan. Make sure the pan is full of sliced apples. Add sugar and sprinkle with cinnamon, flour and a few sprinkles of water. Dot the top with butter. Roll out remaining dough to fit the top of the pan and pinch the edges together. Prick the top crust or make a design. Bake at 450 for 15 minutes, then at 350 for about 35 minutes until the top is lightly browned. Serve very warm with vanilla ice cream and sprinkling with cinnamon. |
