- 6 c. cored, pared, sliced apples
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 c. light corn syrup
- 1 tbls. lemon juice
- 2/3 c. flour
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/3 c. butter
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 c. grated sharp cheddar
| Arrange apples in the bottom of greased 10 x 6 x 2 inch casserole. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Pour lemon juice and syrup over apples. Combine sugar, flour, salt, cut in butter until mixture is consistency of coarse corn meal. Lightly stir in cheese. Put this mixture over apples. Bake uncovered 350 for one hour or until apples are tender. Good served warm or cold. |
